We appreciate our forest department Pune and our local residents who alerted a fire .At around 11am black smoke was spotted by forest workers going closer revealed a massive fire outbreak in Anandvan 2.
Anandvan volunteers rushed to the place to stop the further spread of this wild fire and saved the plants.
Our volunteers and team members struggled to put off the blaze which swept through the forest rapidly .Finally the fire was in control and not harmed much .
This sets a very good example that volunteers and the forest department can work together to save and create multiple urban forests.
The amount of work to be done today in the wake of a disaster can be disheartening and with wildfire, recovery often takes years of work.
